What industries or markets can you write for?
I can write content for most industries or markets. You will find that my focus as a promotional copywriter is not so much on ‘what’ specialised knowledge I have of a specific sector, but on ‘how’ I convey the relevant marketing messages to your target audience. With this in mind, I will seek to understand the product/service benefits of your business or organisation in relation to the needs of your customers or service users. This might involve me conducting further research as well as interviewing you and your customers.
Industries and markets I have written for include:
✓ Architectural design and planning
✓ Building and construction
✓ Business coaching and training
✓ Car dealership
✓ Events management and themeing
✓ Health, wellbeing and personal mentoring
✓ Home design and furnishings
✓ Leisure
✓ Manufacturing and suppliers
✓ Neuroscience
✓ Serviced office space and business media services
✓ Signage and printing
✓ Singing and entertainment
✓ Ski travel
How do you charge?
I offer a free initial consultation. I prefer to charge a fixed fee, so that you know upfront what the total costs will be. I will provide you with a quotation for the whole project; according to your individual specifications and requirements given in the brief. I will then work to your complete satisfaction within that price, with no hidden costs. (The fee only changes if your brief does). For more information on the work I do for the fee we agree, please see section 5 of my terms and conditions. What do your fees include?
My copywriting fees include:
✓ Research and telephone conversations.
✓ Preparation of first draft and submission of first draft.
✓ Integration of your feedback and preparation of second draft; followed by submission of second draft.
Please note that revisions based on a substantial change in the project made after the first draft is submitted may incur an additional fee.
What do your fees not include?
My fees do not include:
✗ Time spent attending any additional briefings (if deemed necessary) and associated travelling expenses incurred.
✗ Expenses for travel beyond a 25 mile radius.
✗ Substantial changes in the project made after the first draft is submitted or amendments requested after submission of the 3rd draft.
✗ Any other out-of-pocket expenses incurred during the project.
How do you work?
Step 1 – Initial briefing
After you make initial contact with me, I will send you a project planner/client briefing form to complete and return to me. This will enable me to find out more about you, your business products and services and your copywriting requirements as well as provide you with a quote. It also helps us both to draw up an agreed timeline.
Step 2 – Quotation and agreement
I then provide you with a total quotation and ask you to read my terms and conditions. Once we have reached an agreement on the fee and you wish to commission me to write for you, I’ll ask you to confirm that you’ve read and agree to my terms and conditions by clicking the ‘Submit’ button at the end of the page. I will also ask you to confirm in writing/via email that you want me to proceed.
Step 3 – Preparation of copywriting drafts
I write the first draft of copy and send it to you by the agreed deadline with the option of a second draft. I will then integrate your feedback into the preparation of the second draft and submit that to you. Please note that revisions based on a substantial change in the project made after the first draft is submitted may incur an additional fee.
What are your payment terms?
I send you my invoice either following submission of the second draft copy or within 10 days of sending a first draft copy to you. Payments can be made by cheque to ‘Alison Wilson’ or through BACS. Payment will fall due at 30 days from the invoice date. For more information on payment terms, please see section 7 of my terms and conditions. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask me.
